Christmas Shows coming up!

I have a couple local show openings coming up in the next 2 weeks.

Providence River #2

First on  Dec. 6th from 5-9 pm will be the Affordable Art Holiday Exhibit opening at the Coastal Living Gallery, 83 Brown Street in Wickford (the gallery is at the end of the pier). There will be live music and wine tasting. All the art is under $350 so it’s a good place to get those stocking stuffers! The painting above is in this show. It is of the river just behind Rhode Island School of Design on a bright and frigid February morning. I thought painting in extreme cold would help me loosen up my brushstrokes and curtail any overworking of the image. There is one other landscape of mine in this show as well.

Pear #3 size3

Then on Dec. 13th from 4-8pm I’ll be showing with a small group of artists at Studio 460, Tower Hill Road (the building just south of Wickford Lumber) This is Henry Gauthier’s Studio and it’s a treat to see what he’s done with the place along with his beautiful sculptures. This is more of a “big Christmas present” show.  I’ll have 5 from my pear series there. The painting above is one of my first pears. It is essentially a nude study. Do you see the tan lines?

Boston International Show

I’m so pleased to say that again this year Renjeau Gallery will represent my work at the Boston International Show. It’s a fabulous show with great contemporary realist works as well as older pieces from bygone days.

I’m hoping to get there and see it on Sunday.

Tabatha’s World

I just heard that that the BBC in the UK is doing a documentary on Andrew Wyeth and may use my “Christina’s World” parody, “Tabatha’s World” in the program. LOL tabathasWorld

Pear # 52

This painting is finally done and in Renjeau Gallery. They will be framing it for display at the Boston International Fine Art Show later this month. The Boston International Show is an art fair comprising  galleries from the US, Canada and Europe. Some of the galleries deal in 19th and 20th century art while others deal in contemporary realism. I am very honored to have my work in this show. Many of my “heroes” will have pieces there.IMG_3567
